With the aim of promoting the development of music and art education to the community, the 2017/18 TWGHs Board of Directors funded the reprovision of two education services centres, the Tung Wah Academy of Music and Kidenza to a larger location, allowing the centre to provide more diversified services to benefit more students and citizens.
Spanning 2,700 square feet in central Wan Chai, the centre is a well designed space with 5 classrooms, including a soundproof examination room and a small-scale performing venue with a capacity of 50 people. With sound wave as the design concept, the rooms are partitioned by movable acoustic panels, allowing great flexibility in re-arranging the classrooms into various sizes to cater for different courses, recitals and seminars, etc. The centre now provides diverse music and arts courses and location based music training programmes at schools.
To express a deepest gratitude for Mr Woo Sam Kang’s generous donation in support of education services of the Group, the centre was named as TWGHs Kitty Woo Music and Art Development Centre in loving memory of his late wife Mrs Kitty Woo in 2019.
